Sharing the Life-Changing Power of Christ

Nursery

The nursery of Friendswood UMC provides safe and loving childcare, for newborns through kindergarten, in a loving Christian environment.  The nursery's goal is to provide care that the parent or guardian can fully trust, enabling them to enrich their lives and Christian spirit by participating in the church services and events of their choice, all the while knowing their child or children are in safe and loving hands.  We also hope to instill in these young children as they start out their lives a true love of God and their church.

The Nursery ministry has an active Nursery Council that is a parent support and advisory group to provide leadership, guidance, and prayer support to the Nursery Ministry of Friendswood UMC.

Our Standards of Excellence

The nursery seeks to serve our children by

  • sharing Christ's love through son, stories, and caring interaction.
  • providing safe classrooms that are fun and filled with age-appropriate toys, games, and books.
  • adhering to strict sanitation guidelines to protect the health and well-being of each child.
  • offering an open door policy - parents are allowed access into rooms as needed.

Our Staff

Children are precious at Friendswood UMC and we strive to make our nursery fun and stimulating for even the youngest child coming through our door.  While we realize it can be difficult to leave your child in the care of others, we want to assure you that our staff has genuine love for the work they do.  Our nursery is staffed by paid, experienced workers who are certified yearly by the American Red Cross in CPR and First Aid.  They also participate in continuing education classes and seminars covering a variety of topics including child development, safety, and sanitation procedures.
