Should I request a Stephen Minister? If I could just talk to someone about this, I know I'd feel better."
"I don't think anyone really understands what I'm feeling."
When was the last time someone really listened to you... undistracted, full attention kind of listening? Stephen Ministers are trained to listen without offering unwanted advice.
Stephen Ministry is grounded in Jesus' command to love one another. It equips people to provide one-to-one caring relationships to those experiencing all kinds of life difficulties.
Who can refer others for help?Do you know someone who is hurting and needs support for a difficult problem or a difficult life situation; someone who would be open to the care-giving a Christian can give? If you have a family member, friend, co-worker, neighbor - whether a church member or non-member - consider explaining Stephen Ministry to him or her and making a referral to our Stephen Leader for Connections.
What happens when you ask for help from a Stephen Minister? When you ask for help from a Stephen Minister, a Stephen Leader will contact you to talk more about Stephen Ministry and what it can mean to you. If your needs can best be served by having a Stephen Minister, you will be matched with a Stephen Minister who will support you through this tough time.
Who will know?Confidentiality is a top priority for Stephen Ministers. It is the cornerstone of Stephen Ministry. You do not need to be concerned that other people will discover what you discuss with your Stephen Minister.
If you would like to learn more about Stephen Ministry contact Rev. Rosemary Dubois or our Stephen Leader for Connections.
