Friendswood UMC is blessed to have four full-time pastors on staff to guide us in our spiritual walk.  Each is available to help you with your journey as together we share the life-changing power of Christ.

Jim Bass | Senior Pastor

Drawing from his own life experiences, Jim has a passion in ministry for reaching those beyond the church walls.  Throughout his ministry, Jim has focused on evangelism and being intentional in communicating the message of Christ in ways that are relevant to all, even those unfamiliar with church terminologies and theologies.  Called into pastoral ministry as a teenager (see My Faith Story), Jim believes in the power of the local church to be God’s instrument to change lives, and in helping people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Howard Huhn | Executive Pastor

Howard has a passion to lead people to a lifestyle of discipleship through God's word.  His messages feature practical ways to integrate faith into everyday living while bringing his theological training to an approachable level.  His down-to-earth personality and humor are evident in his messages, particularly to the men at our Men's Ministry, Quest.  As a former church-start pastor, Howard also has a passion for reaching people disconnected with the church to discover (or rediscover) the fullness of life that is ours in Christ Jesus.

Rosemary Dubois | Pastor of Congregational Care

Rosemary has a diverse background in her service in the church and it was while serving in the area of Christian Education that Rosemary answered the call to become a pastor.  Over the years, Rosemary has developed a great passion for pastoral care.  She is seen regularly in the area hospitals and nursing homes and has even been known to do hospital visits in Jerusalem.  She meets regularly with those who are facing difficult times to offer spiritual and physical support and strives to empower and organize congregations to care for those in need.
